About

The work of Marta Galmozzi ranges from photography to sculpture and includes experiments involving the use of the image such as collages and video.

In her installations, often site-specific, the photographic image becomes a physical presence that plays with the space and its perception.

By experimenting with different ways of display or support, Marta pushes the photographic medium out of its traditional borders. The aim is to shorten the distance between the viewer and the artwork by showing the sculptural potential behind a photograph.

Her subjects are people or elements from the daily life displaced from their original context and caught into dream-like scenes. By combining them in a surrealist way and suspending them in another dimension, Marta questions the unexpected and the absurd.
